my fifth grade teacher taught me
math that didn't add up, science
that dissolved, and the value
of a rose bush, but these

these are the things i know:

spiders build cobwebs
in quiet corners, my dog
comes when she's called
but makes a lousy ratter,
and the dust that dresses our furniture
is about 75% family

The ending as (at least) a double meaning for me, and that really seems to add to the depth of the piece.  Thoughts stimulated!
